On Religious Diversity
A journal excerpt.
I think it is important to note that while we may believe in one religion or school of thought, over others, people of other religions and non-religion are not intellectually lesser or culturally other.
They are people, and because they are people, they are equally brilliant or even more brilliant than us or those in our community. They also excel in relationships, sometimes surpassing us. Though tempting, a religious belief, or the absence of one, is not an indicator of intelligence, empathy, or any good stuff in between.
What I'm driving at is that people of other religions are just as concerned about humanity, justice and prosperity— individual, societal, national and global. They are just as concerned about solving humanity's problems, and so, religion or even sexual orientation should not blind me, or us, from working with people, learning with and from people, or simply enjoying relationships and communities. They are people, and that's the basis that counts.

Still reading The Quest of The Simple Life by Williams James Dawson and here’s a quote I like:
“Blessed is he who has variety in his life: thrice blessed is he who has freedom and variety: but the subordinate toiler in the vast mechanism of a great city has neither. He will sit at the same desk, gaze upon the same unending rows of figures, do, in fact, the same things year in and year out till his youth has withered into age. He himself becomes little better than a mechanism.”
Would you look at that 🫠
